Press Release
Specially for the project The BiG Scuba Podcast
23.05.2020
Hi my name is Denis and I am developing and promoting a mobile application for divers. Dive Number is the simplest mobile scuba diver logbook.
How did it start?
I have been diving for over 12 years.
On one of my daily diving trips, for the tenth time I ran out of pages in my paper notebook and I wrote down my impressions on pieces of paper that I found. After all, it is very important to keep the first impressions after immersion until they dissolve over time.
It was necessary to change something. And when the first smartphone fell into my hands and I discovered this new world of Applications;) I understood what I would do.
Now we are one of the fastest growing projects in the world of digital diving. Just the other day, we noted 5000 thousand registered users and this number is growing rapidly. Yes, this is a small victory for our small team, but this is only the beginning and we have big plans and many ambitions.
What the Dive Number application can do.
This is a mobile logbook for recording basic dive data. Depth, water temperature, visibility, amount of gases at the beginning and at the end of the dive, and others. A characteristic difference of our application is convenient data entry. A diver fills the logbook simply by using swipe left and right up and down. Almost all information is entered through a graphical interface without unnecessary keyboard input. Once you tried to use our interface and figured out the navigation, you no longer want to return to another way of entering information.
In the nearest plans of the project. This is the creation of cards for diving sites on which there will be the most detailed information about each dive site with a description of the diving conditions and photos from these dive sites.
Also now we are working on detailed statistics of your logbook. This is what a paper logbook cannot give us. You will be able to see statistics of your dives in various conditions. How many times have you plunged into a flooded object and how many times into caves. How much time you spent underwater during your entire diving experience. This is very interesting information that our application will help you and the paper notebook will not be able to.
Distant plans. Filling a mobile logbook, divers around the world transmit a lot of information that cannot be obtained in another way without diving. This is the purity of water and the number of underwater inhabitants on the reef and a meeting with specific species of marine animals. We plan to transfer these statistics to organizations involved in the protection of the seas and oceans. So every diver at every dive becomes part of a huge system of monitoring the underwater world and its condition. Filling our mobile logbook Dive Number you do it for yourself but benefit the water world around us.
Mobile diver's logbook - Dive Number is available on iOS and Android platforms. It is easy to find in the search app store and play market by writing in the search for "Dive Number". Now the application is completely free, we only accept donations, this can be done from the application.
